TRAVEL: CHARLESTON WITH MARYSIA

Charleston is a great city to visit anytime a year. Last month, I took a ‘staycation’ at Charleston’s newest boutique hotel, The Pinch, where I enjoyed their carefully curated decor, indulged in my wellness routine, and was able to re-discover some of my downtown favorites. Charleston is known for it’s great food scene.... below are some of my favorites you don’t want to miss.

WHERE TO STAY

THE PINCH HOTEL
36 George Street, Charleston

The Pinch Hotel is a new addition to town and it’s right up my alley when it comes to aesthetic for interiors. The hotel is housed in two original Victorian-style structures dating back as early as 1843, alongside one newly constructed building. The new property has been thoughtfully transformed into a boutique hotel experience that features 22 luxury rooms and suites, and three residences that are available for stays of 30 days or longer. The hotel also features the newly opened restaurant, The Quinte - a cozy oyster & cocktail den, and is in the works on a second full-service destination restaurant with a vibrant outdoor cobblestone courtyard.

WHERE TO EAT

THE QUINTE OYSTER BAR
36 George Street, Charleston

For an extraordinary dining experience in Charleston, look no further than The Quinte Oyster Bar right at The Pinch Hotel. From the soulful, fresh service to the thoughtfully curated menu and ambiance, every aspect of The Quinte will leave you with an unforgettable culinary experience. I recommend the Grouper with one of their delicious craft cocktails!

BABAS ON CANNON
11 Cannon Street, Charleston

I love to start my morning with movement — either at CHARLESTON POWER YOGA or a game or two of tennis. After my workout, my favorite way to treat myself is a stop at Baba’s on Cannon - my favorite drink is their Peanut Mocha

FIG

232 Meeting Street, Charleston

Food is Good...soooo good! The James Beard award winning chefs.

They source products with integrity, flavor and soul, and incorporate these seasonal offerings into the menu nightly. The result is food that is honest, straightforward and pays homage to the Lowcountry.

*Our little secret (it's impossible to get a reservation you don't plan a month ahead) so go stand by the front at 4:30 and you'll be able to snag one of bar or communal table seats by 5!

THE POST HOUSE INN
101 Pitt Street, Mount Pleasant

If i’m not hosting, one of my favorite dinners in Charleston is at the Post House Inn. The building is historic, built in 1896, but the design has a charming, contemporary feel. I love their cocktails and fresh, seasonal menu. It’s the perfect place to catch up with friends

OFF TRACK ICE CREAM
6 Beaufain Street, Charleston

My favorite sweet treat in downtown Charleston is Off Track Ice Cream. They have a great selection of both traditional and vegan flavors. I personally love the Mint Chip.
