TRAVEL: HARBOUR ISLAND WITH MARYSIA

Our home away from home. Harbour Island has brought me so much joy and unforgettable memories with my loved ones over the years. This beautiful Island's tourism-based economy has been devastated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Please consider donating or sharing the Briland Food Campaign that directly helps hundreds of people who have lost their jobs. Thank you!

CORAL HOUSE

The adorable pink house in the photo above belongs to our friends Chassity and Josh from Charleston.  They are the reason why we ended up in Harbour Island in the first place.  Coral House is a private 4 bedroom home in town...it's a great instagramable option.

THE DUNMORE

Airy, stylish cottages with views of the pink sand beach make the Dumore hotel a must stay. This gorgeous property has it all– tennis & pickle-ball courts, an ocean-front pool and the most darling decor by Amanda Lindroth. The friendliest staff quickly becomes part of your family.

They also sell MARYSIA at the little boutique!

In the last photo I'm standing with the awesome fitness instructor, TAMARA! Follow her on instagram to see what I mean.  She does water aerobics at the dunmore sometimes which is super fun and twice a week group classes.

SWEET SPOT

Although I love to indulge a little while on vacation, this sweet spot allows me to feel bikini ready. This gem offers a plant-based menu with healthy smoothies, cold-pressed juices and amazing food for breakfast and lunch. SO GOOD!

THE LANDING

The Landing is a beautiful historic bay front hotel/restaurant that dates back to the 1800s.  They serve breakfast and dinner.  If I want to indulge, I get the ricotta hotcakes for breakfast...they are delicious with brown butter on top!  For dinner I love the A.B.C. , chili salt squid and the arugula salad.  Their burger is to die for...sometimes we order it to go.

 THE DUNMORE RESTAURANT

The Dunmore has a beautiful restaurant, decorated by Amanda Lindroth, overlooking the most beautiful beach in the world (in my opinion:) I always order the fish curry for dinner and you must try the Rum Dum cocktail !!! Again, the staff is so friendly it feels like home.

We love to visit the animal shelter on the island. If you can't adopt one of the pot cakes just go in to play with them.  It helps with their human interaction as a lot of them were feral when found.

The beach is the biggest attraction to us.  The alluring sand and water colors are endless fun.  You can charter a boat for a 1/2 or full day and enjoy some amazing snorkeling or spear fishing .

The Elbow Room

Stop by the Elbow Room for a drink or two. Beautiful cocktails after a long day in the sun is what vacation is all about. It's right by the loading dock where you get on and off the island so a nice start or end to your vacation.
